When Chuck Yates went on the air at Boomer Radio in September of 2022, he entered his 7th decade in radio. He’s had opportunities to work in some big cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as El Paso, Texas, and Omaha/Council Bluffs.
Chuck has been married to my wife, Kris, for 41 years. Chuck and Kris have 4 outstanding kids and 5 incredible grandchildren. A couple of special highlights in Chuck’s life, besides time with my family, would be saving a 6-year-old’s life with CPR after he had been hit in the chest with a baseball. Chuck got to be a National “Hero of the Day” in USA Today. Also, the city of Bellevue gave him a “Chuck Yates Day!” There’s also a chapter about Chuck in a book called “Coach.”
Special times with a microphone in his hand were the years he got to spend as the in-ring announcer for the then WWF (now WWE) during the Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant era.
