Hot, melty, mouth watering slices of heaven… who doesn’t love a handcrafted pizza? The team at Pizza Pie Guys specializes in making award winning pizza for a range of tastes. In 2014, Pizza Pie Guys participated in Omaha Food and Spirits Magazine’s annual pizza review. Out of 16 local pizzerias, Pizza Pie Guys took first place in the judges category, and their Green Chile Enchilada pizza took third place in the people’s choice category.
So how do you make a truly special pizza? I was told almost everything that comes out of their kitchen is made from scratch. As I talked to owner, Dan Reid, he was in the kitchen prepping the fresh dough by hand, getting everything ready to go for the day’s menu. Most of the pizzeria’s creations sprung from recipes devised in Dan’s own kitchen, usually dreamt up by Dan’s wife. With some help from his 10 year old son, Dan pretty much runs the show, including food prep and daily operations.
Dan told me he understands how busy life gets and he makes a special effort to cater to the needs of suburban families, offering delicious pizza available for delivery or pick up. Along with Pizza Pie Guys, Dan also caters a variety of parties and events, serving everything from pancakes to hamburgers. Their most popular request is for their sweet cream pancakes, enjoyed by customers of all ages! It’s Dan’s mission to make your event as easy and fun as possible. They even provide all of the plates, napkins, forks and cups.
Dan has always been intrigued by restaurants and knew he wanted to own one of his own. He likes to introduce new pizzas monthly, this month being mac and cheese pizza…. YUM.
